Another absolutely disgusting example of pre-emptive dhimmitude, in the name of tolerance and multiculturalism, right here in the US: First Jell-O, now Santa.So long, Halloween parade. Farewell, Santa’s gift shop.
The holiday traditions are facing elimination in some Oak Lawn schools this year after complaints that the activities are offensive, particularly to Muslim students.
Final decisions on which of the festivities will be axed will fall to the principals at each of Ridgeland School District 122’s five schools, Supt. Tom Smyth said.
Parents expect that the announcement is going to add to the tension that has been building since officials agreed earlier this month to change the lunch menu to exclude items containing pork to accommodate Muslim students. News that Jell-O was struck from the menu caused such a stir that officials have agreed to bring it back. Gelatin is often made with tissue or bones of pigs or other animals.
That controversy now appears to have been been dwarfed by the holiday debate, which became so acrimonious Wednesday that police were called to Columbus Manor School to intervene in a shouting match among parents.
“It’s difficult when you change the school’s culture,” said Columbus Manor Principal Sandy Robertson.
Perhaps incidents like this will hasten the day when people recognize that the political correctness and multiculturalism advanced by the educational establishment is a Trojan Horse wheeled into the gates. The toxins it is releasing are hollowing out the West and in time will lead to its collapse. But perhaps we won't see it either. In Britain where the condition is more advanced, the farseeing already are abandoning ship for Australia and other parts.

Ms. or Mr. Robertson made no mention of the fact that great numbers of our Jewish brethren have attended schools (and still are) that celebrated Christian holidays and served pork and other non-kosher foods in our school systems for decades without the whisper of a complaint. And it really isn't the Muslims--it's that incredibly moronic liberal mentality that affects so much of this country but especially our school systems. That's why home schooling isn't just another answer it is the only answer.
