Obama re-election fallout - layoffs

I had posted before about companies waiting to see who won the election before making personnel changes. We had a bunch a few days ago and now we have a bunch more:
Texas Instruments to cut 1,700 jobs to reduce costs
126 layoffs in proposed budget for NY county
Bechtel Power Corp. warns of 277 layoffs at Turkey Point Nuclear Plant
Job Cuts Announced At Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center (950 positions)
Panasonic prepares for 'garage sale', to axe 10,000 jobs
Xerox to lay off 2,500; local impact unclear
Smithfield Foods to begin layoffs as it shuts down Va. packaged meat plant (400 workers total)
NBCUniversal cuts about 500 employees
These are all news items that were posted yesterday or today. There were a lot more that I did not post. Unemployment will be down a bit with all the temporary Christmas hiring but the January numbers are going to be brutal -- especially when sequestration kicks in.
