Coast Guard shuts down Oil terminal

from Yahoo bq. The US Coast Guard, citing the nation's elevated terror status, said it had ordered a major oil tanker terminal on Alaska's south shore shut down for security reasons. bq. "We have ordered the terminal at Valdez temporarily shut down for security reasons," Coast Guard spokesman Lt. Commander Jeff Carter told AFP. bq. "This is consistent with the code orange alert status," he said. bq. Tanker loading at Valdez, the southern terminus of the trans-Alaska pipeline, were shut off Tuesday night and remained closed Thursday. bq. Carter would not say how long the port's loading facilities would be out of operation, but said they should resume "shortly." bq.
