Handy Aramaic phrases...
When seeing Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ", the
Guardian gives you some handy Aramaic phrases:
bq. Shluukh kleelaa d-kuubayk, pquud. Laa meshkakh naa d-ekhzey l-ketaan tsuur- aathaa.
(Could you take off your crown of thorns, please? I can't see the screen.)
bq. Ktaabaa taab hwaa meneyh.
(It's not as good as the book. )
And:
bq. Ma'hed lee qalleel d-Khayey d-Breeyaan, ellaa dlaa gukhkaa.
(It sort of reminds me of Life of Brian, but it's nowhere near as funny. )
There are a bunch more. Heh...
