Bunch of Nerds and Geeks
Here is a website for anyone interested in building a full-size robotic R2-D2 unit. Actually really cool -- the members galleries have some really fun photos and the level of workmanship on some of these droids is very high. Among the members is a Mr. Kelly Krider. You have seen his work before on the large screen -- he is the lucky sod who was paid to build the robotic R2-D2 for George Lucas.
