Former President Carter said Thursday the Palestinian elections were "completely honest, completely fair, completely safe and without violence."Arrrggghhh!!! Posted by DaveH at January 26, 2006 9:04 PM
Carter, who led an international observer team from the National Democratic Institute, also said he hoped that the Hamas Islamic group would act responsibly now that it appears to have been elected to power in Palestinian elections.
That cartoon could have replaced Jimmy Carter with George W. Bush, who praised the democratic process in Palestine right up until the results were announced. If you want to promote democracy in the Middle East, you have to accept what comes with it.
