Bus hits low overpass, shearing off its roof
Five students injured by accident in Arboretum
A charter bus carrying the Garfield High School girls' softball team smashed into a pedestrian overpass in the Washington Park Arboretum on Wednesday evening, destroying the roof and injuring at least five students.
But it could have been an even bigger surprise. A friend of us works for Seattle utilities and the reason that bridge is so massive and so low is that built into the structure is a very large sewer line. That part of the system is gravity fed so it has to be where it is.
Now if the bus had hit just a little harder...
