A hell of a way to start the day...

My Dad went out for a walk this morning. He fell over and was dead when the aid car reached him. It was not unexpected as he was very frail and had recently reached his 94th birthday and all things considered, this was not a bad way to go -- a moment or two of WTF and then on to the next world. Needless to say, posting will be a bit light for the next couple of days. Posted by DaveH at April 2, 2010 10:48 AM

Dave-
Your Dad helped form a generation of engineers and scientists - he has left a legacy any man could be proud of. Much respect. My condolences to you and your family on your loss. My prayers are with you.

Sorry about your loss Dave. A man is gone but his great works remain.

You're right - not a bad way to go. You were a good son to him if half the stuff you've told is true. Good on you and on him, too, for making it so far as he did without tons of pain and loneliness.

Sincerest condolences, sir, on your father's passing. Hope God blesses you with happy memories in the sadness, and know that your Dad will rest easy in God's hands......
