Entering the food coma state

We spent about an hour stuffing our faces. Lulu's son went to an outbuilding where he stays when he is visiting, Lulu spent some time reading and I surfed a bit. The tryptophans are kicking in big-time -- it is only 7PM but feels like 11PM. Veeeery sleepy. Waiting for the dishwasher to finish a load; I'll refill it and head upstairs to bed. Turkey has been carved, most of the meat and sides are in the freezer for later meals and I'll boil down the carcass for soup stock in a few days. I have a lot to be thankful for this year -- dealing with some crap but a resolution is in sight and progress is being made. Otherwise, life is incredible -- this is Lulu's and my second Thanksgiving together and it just gets better and better. There is a memorial service for a dear friend this Saturday so feeling melancholy about that -- his passing was unexpected and there is still a big hole in my heart. Frank had done a bunch of photography over the years so I have been spending the last couple days digitizing a lot of his slides. There is a video projector at the memorial site -- powerpoint is actually good for some things... Posted by DaveH at November 22, 2012 6:49 PM
