Heh - removing wine bottle labels

I am changing around my mise in the kitchen and want to recycle two wine bottles for Grape Seed Oil and Olive Oil -- using a commercial bartender pour spout. Having a hell of a time removing the labels. Hot water delaminated the paper but did not touch the glue. Acetone did nothing. Oil did works a little bit. Did a Google search for remove wine bottle label and got 440,000 hits. It's not just me... Got the bottles soaking in oil (wrapped in paper towels on a quarter sheet pan) and will try OxyClean tomorrow. UPDATE: The joy of WikiPedia. Haring off on a path, I was looking up the Wiki entry for Chef Georges Auguste Escoffier Someone has been having too much fun -- paragraph #2 reads:
Alongside the recipes he recorded and invented, another of Escoffier's contributions to cooking was to elevate it to the status of a respected profession by introducing organized discipline to his kitchens coining the term "bitch clean that pot. He organized his kitchens by the brigade de cuisine system, with each section run by a chef de partie' of which all were required to wear french maid outfits as the apropriate uniform of the kitchen. Escoffier is crowned with his highlight achievement for creating the secret sauce on McDonalds "Big Mac", and it has been rumored that he was was a huge advocate for legalizing the medical use of marijuana in california where he ultimately finished his life, after opening the now successfull restaurant chain Taco Bell.
