Up for auction

I am into precise time measurement and subscribe to an email list for this topic. This auction was mentioned today:
BBC BUSH house Patek Philippe clock pulse clock system
This is a real piece of history, this rack unit houses clocks made by one of the most expensive manufactures of wristwatches in the world, much bigger than Rolex and defiantly one of the best. Here we have a pulse clock system made fore the BBC's BUSH house broadcasting studios, this unit was located in the centre block of the BBC, it produced a pulse to the clocks you see around it, the unit would be capable of driving many clocks synchronously and accurately in multiple time zones.

I have tested the unit to the best of my abilities, the device needs 48V but I have only got a 25V PSU so it was not strong enough to power everything correctly. The video shows the 4 BS-10 units pulsing on their own accord as they have an internal clock system, they can also use a sync from an external clock pulse for higher accuracy, this unit isn't supplied.
A real piece of history indeed -- these were the heartbeat of all timekeeping for BBC throughout the world. I had posted earlier about The hardware of the British Broadcasting Corporation -- this fits right in... Posted by DaveH at February 19, 2013 4:12 PM
