President Obama said the proposed Keystone XL oil sands pipeline would not be a major job creator and could increase gasoline prices, but added that the White House decision will rest on climate change.
�Republicans have said that this would be a big jobs generator. There is no evidence that that�s true,� Obama said in a New York Times interview published Saturday.
He could be right. Build a pipeline and you wouldn't need all the truck drivers,road maintence, or railroad workers to move it in a much less safe or efficent manner.
Compare it to the berry industry here in the county. If they hadn't developed the picking machine, there is no way to get enough people to pick all these acres. But they only developed the machine because of the rising cost of labor.
He should stand by his principles so Canada builds their own West Coast pipeline. That will show us.
