Just wow - The Hobbit
Fully enjoyed The Hobbit - definitely one to see on the silver screen even if you catch it at the local second-run cheap theater.
The rendition of Smaug was spot on and there were some nice 'photographic' touches -- the scenes are mostly CGI but it was fun to see some water drops on the lens and some lens flare looking into the sunset.
Someone had turned me on to the
Dragon River restaurant and we had a late lunch there before the movie. Excellent food -- mostly Northern Chinese/Sichuan cuisine but we all love this so we ordered a couple different plates and chowed down.
